Port Arthur
Port Arthur is the original penal colony of Australia. Located in southern Tasmania, its borders are being eaten away by rising sea levels. Before climate change was so prominent in our awareness, I visited Port Arthur and was quite taken by a small house – a touching and articulate bit of architectural history. These images of that house are a meditation on the passage of time.
