Wallindia
WALLINDIA is the fictional nation founded by Curtis Wallin and his wife, Julie, where he is King and she his consort and Queen.
In the MY HERO series, Wallin explores the heroic myth-making behind the legend of his falling in love with the then ingénue, Princess Juliettita. The Princess had came to WALLINDIA to witness Prince Curtis wrestle a Great White Bear in a show of virility, as all Kings of WALLINDIA had done before ascending the throne. Clutching her miniature portrait of the boy who would be King, she declared “My Hero” upon his victory.
CURTIS WALLIN – an American sculptor, painter, scenic designer – is creator and curator of the conceptual art initiative WALLINDIA. The art of WALLINDIA ranges from monumental sculptures and iconographic light-based relief works to historical hand-painted posters and billboards on barns. The ever-expanding artworks create the mythology and the faux propaganda of this wonderful country whose motto is “FUN & PRETTY”.
