THE GAZE is a series of aggressive images that do not share ground with unoccupied space. Aesthetically, I am pursuing bright saturated color, and full coverage of the printing paper. Thematically, I am interested in animal and bird life and its relation to human life. How easy for man to anthropomorphize nature, how arrogant the exercise of dominion. What – if anything – does nature think of man? These creatures stare back, defiant and challenging. I want to throw a viewer off-kilter.
